Is my information really private?
Yes, structurally. The app makes zero network requests - you can verify this with Wi-Fi turned off. Your entries live only on your device, and your backup is a file you control.
Is this legal advice?
No. The Companion is an organizational tool. Estate rules and deadlines vary by state, and some estates genuinely need an attorney. What the Companion does is get you to that conversation organized - which is how you keep the bills small.
I'm buying this for someone who's grieving. Is that strange?
It's one of the kindest practical things you can do. Being named executor is overwhelming; handing someone the map is real help. Many of our buyers are helping a sibling, parent, or friend.
